Lady Anne Riding Holiday 2020

A confidence boosting riding holiday to help improve your canter skills

3.5 days / 4 nights £795

Are you looking for a holiday which is fun and helps you improve your confidence ? This holiday is a great choice for riders who have mastered walk, trot and canter in the riding school and who now want to enjoy their first trail ride, as well as riders who are returning after a break, or riders who have had a loss of confidence. There is lots of riding but you will have great support from us and will be riding with others who have a similar ability as yourself. Many of our existing customers  began their journeys with Stonetrail by attending the Lady Anne holiday and have gone on to enjoy the other holiday which we offer.

This holiday is limited to just 4 riders who will be supported by two instructors. On this holiday you will learn how to groom, tack up, build trust and confidence with your horse and each day you will enjoy plenty of supportive, confidence boosting rides all in the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Everyone will be at the same level, so no one will ever feel out of their depth or fear they are "holding anyone up" ensuring you feel relaxed and positive about your ability. Our horses are very friendly and easy to ride. When cantering they are  happy to stay in a line, they do not race, bolt, rear or buck. On this holiday there will be at least two instructors to provide good support and instruction as and when needed ! Over the four days the canters will build up from being very short and steady to longer and slightly faster ones. As well as canter practice you will learn how to adjust your position to ride confidently up and down hills and through streams. But of course its not all about the riding, the scenery is outstanding and there will be plenty of time to wander peacefully along and take in the views.

Itinerary

Arrive at 1pm on Monday. Settle into your accommodation and meet your fellow riders. Meet in the stable yard at 2pm for an afternoon ride at a steady walk and trot pace lasting approx 2 hours. On Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday we will meet in the stable yard at 9am to catch, feed, groom and tack up your horse. Each day we will ride a different circular trail with a picnic stop. The holiday finishes after breakfast on Friday.

Your Guide

The planning and organisation of your holiday is so important, and we always try to go the extra mile to make your holiday as memorable as possible. The person leading the ride also has a huge responsibility for your safety and enjoyment and everyone who leads, and assists is qualified and experienced at what they do. For the majority of rides, your Ride Leader will be Alison, the owner of Stonetrail who started the business in 2007 and has years of experience riding and leading trail riding holidays. Assisting Alison will be a team of equally experienced and mature helpers who are there to make sure you have a fun, safe and wonderful riding experience.  Click here to read more about Alison and our riding holidays.

Riders Skill Level

This ride is suitable for adult riders who can walk, trot and canter in an arena and would now like to improve their overall confidence and skills of cantering and riding out in open countryside. This holiday is an ideal choice if you are planning your first riding holiday and / or you have not ridden for some time and want to be sure you are in the hands of experienced instructors, while riding with others of a similar standard. You do not need any experience of caring for horses; there are lots of opportunities to learn how to groom, tack up and care for your horse each day. Please get in touch if you would like to chat in person and discuss your suitability before making a decision.

Our track leads directly from the main road and is marked clearly with a large sign which reads “Street Farm”. Please take care not to follow your sat nav in the last half a mile because it will direct you to turn off the main road towards a neighbouring property. We are sorry but we do not have any accommodation available the night before the start of your ride.

We apologise but on this holiday there is no availability for extra nights' accommodation on the night before your holiday. If you require accommodation we recommend you use our local accommodation website.
