Stonetrail is a riding holiday and trekking centre situated midway between Kirkby Stephen and Sedbergh in the Eden Valley on the border of Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Horse Riding at Stonetrail offers riders the opportunity to experience what we refer to as “real riding” out on the fells with a sense of fun, challenge and adventure. We are very fortunate to have some of the best off road riding routes in the UK on our doorstep and Stonetrail is renowned for making the most of this unique landscape.
We offer a range of riding experiences for adult riders from a one hour trek for novices to faster more challenging rides for experienced riders as well as choice of residential adult riding holidays. Lessons and instructional treks are available for adults who wish to learn to ride or renew their past riding skills. You can choose to stay in one of our self-catering cottages and let us tailor-make a riding holiday just for you. If you have your own horse, why not bring it with you and enjoy a holiday together?
Our Junior Riding Club and Sedbergh School Horse Riding Courses offer riders aged 10 and over weekly riding and horse care sessions and horse riding courses during the school holidays.
Stonetrail Riding Centre is owned and managed by Alison Roper and a small team of staff and volunteers who work hard to create a very welcoming and fun atmosphere for everyone. Alison is a qualified Ride Leader with the British Horse Society and has many years of experience organising and leading trail riding holidays.
